이혜미  

서울을 기반으로 활동하는 작가. 흙을 베이스로 용도에 한정되지 않는 오브제와 테이블웨어를 제작한다. 그의 작업은 과일이나 식물을 담아내는 쓰임을 가지기도 하고 오브제 자체가 하나의 조형이 되어 훌륭하게 공간을 채우기도 한다. 풍경과의 조우는 오브제를 더 영롱하게 만들며 마침내 놓여진 자리에서 작업의 완성에 이른다. 이혜미는 선조들의 과하지 않은 아름다움을 존경한다. 소박한 아름다움이야말로 절제된 형태의 미감이라 생각하며 오래되고 익숙한 것들로부터 영감을 받아 시간을 담는 작업을 하고 있다. 자기 위 은채로 작업하는 주된 기법은 시간을 존중하는 작가의 의도를 함축한다. 작가는 매 작업마다 직접 흙을 만져 자연스러운 질감을 살린 뒤 그 위로 은을 켜켜이 쌓아올린다. 이는 행위를 통해 온전히 시간을 쌓는 것이며 응축된 아름다움과 유연한 우아함을 담아내는 과정이다. 이혜미의 작업은 정제된 조형 안에 풍경을 끌어안는 넉넉함을 담으며 세라믹의 확장성을 보여준다.
